MNP is now finally launched in almost all the states in India. One of the reports about MNP in Haryana says that only 0.6% of the total mobile phone users used this service. So reports suggest that there wont be any major shift towards any particular operator.

Before you use this particular service you should know a few things that are listed here.

1. It costs 19 INR to change service and it takes 7 days in some states and a fortnight in other states like J&K and northeast.

2. If a subscriber wants to change from CDMA to GSM or vice versa then he/she has to go for a handset change of the same technology.

3. You can't carry your number to a different city, that is, you can't change circles. MNP is possible only within the local circle.

4. A user of the service should stay with the service provider for a minimum period of 90 days.

5. Go through the offers the service providers give you before you port your number to a different network.

Internet has replaced almost everything in education. If you have an internet connection at your home then you don't need a teacher or library. You can get any number of online degrees you want. In fact a country's growth can be attributed to the growth of internet users in the world. Here is the list of top 20 countries for highest internet users that I came across in a site. The world leader in population, China, is the leader when it comes to highest number of internet users followed by United States of America. The domination of internet usage by China is purely because of its high literacy rate and of course population. The country known for hard working citizens, Japan, is placed third. India is the country that is at the fourth spot but again it should be credited to its population. The list drops down with the developed economies and most populous countries. For statistics click on the image to view in large size. It doesn't matter how long we use internet but how constructively we use it that decides the growth.
Who Has Most Followers on Twitter
Twitter is the name of a bird but in today's world people know it as a social networking site which helps one to connect with his/her friends. Most of us get bored to read long forwarded messages even from our friends. So, Twitter came up with the idea of limiting the message size to 140 characters that would make everyone to read the message fully. This site is reported to be the fastest growing site at present. The users of the site are growing in leaps and bounds. Here you can follow all your favourite stars if they are a member of this micro-blogging site. Here is the list of 10 celebrities who has got most number of followers on Twitter all over the world. The list is headed by britneyspears who has got around 5500K followers. The other nine in the top ten are apluskladygagatheEllenShowBarackObamaKimKardashianjustinbieberOprahtwitter, and ashleytisdale. Amongst the Indian Twitter users, ShashiTharoor tops the chart with around 830K followers but he is placed at 161 in the global list. Facebook, as most of us know is the world's leading social networking website that most of the youngsters prefer to connect to their friends on internet. It has a global audience of over 488 million users throughout the world. The image shows the top ten countries with most number of facebook users. The country with the maximum users is obviously United States because it originated there. United States contributes a little over 26% to the global facebook users' database. The second country in the chart is United Kingdom with a contribution of around 5.5% to total global users. In both the top countries female users are slightly more when compared against male users. India is ranked 10th in the list and has male domination unlike the top two countries. India contributes more than 2% to the global users. Most users of this social networking site fall between the age of 18yrs and 34yrs. If you find this article informative, retweet it so that your friends would also be aware of this. For more information about facebook and its users' database visit checkfacebook.com
We can't think of any language other than English to top this chart. The reason is English is the official or second largest spoken langugae in most of the leading economies and its the language which has got most number of websites on internet than any other language in the world. The second position is held by the country with the maximum population in the world. Not only because of population but also because of its literacy rate China is sustaining at the second spot. The other major languages are Spanish, Japanese, Portuguese, German, Arabic, French, Russian and Korean. These are the languages that occupy the top ten places. The data from the figure shows that around 83% of the sites belong to these ten languages. If you closely observe, the top two languages alone contribute to around 50% of the websites on internet in the world. If you consider the top 5 languages in the list then about 70% of the websites are covered in these five languages. Whatever the language they use on internet, if there is a translation option embedded in the website for major languages in the world then I think lot of people could benefit from foreign language websites also.
We use the world's most popular search engine, Google, to search for different information on internet. But the question here is "How effective is our search ?". Many of us are still not aware of Google's "Advanced Search". I have listed here some of the tips that I came across on web. Beware of the tips' syntax given below. If you don't follow the syntax you won't find fitting results for your search. Here I have given the syntax of each tip within double quotes. Feel free to test the examples given below and write your comments if there is any flaw.

1. Find the local time of a place. Syntax: " time in place". Example: time in India.

2. Identify local weather of a place or city. Syntax: "weather place". Example: weather Delhi. It will give the current day's weather and also for three more consecutive days.

3. Exclude a particular word in search by using -(minus sign). Syntax: "word(s) -word". Example: Antivirus -free. This example will not list out the search results with the word free.

4. Include a particular word in the search results by using +(plus sign). Syntax: "word(s) +word". Example: Antivirus +free.

5. Replace search keyword with words that are same in meaning. Syntax: "words ~(word)". Example: Linux ~manual. Results will be displayed with Linux documentation, Linux manual, Linux Tutorials..etc.,

6. Match any single word in the search phrase by using *.  Syntax: "word(s) * word(s)". Example: Linux * Softwares.

7. Using the "OR" to search for either of the words. Syntax: "word(s) OR word(s)". Example: binary search program in C OR C++. Instead of the word OR you can use "|".

8. Definition of a term. The syntax is "define" followed by the word, for which you need the definition, in angle brackets(lesser than and greater than symbols).

9. Looking to buy a product within a price range. Then this tip would help you a lot. Syntax: "word(s) $10..$100". Example: Watch $10..$100.

10. You can use Google to find solutions to your mathematical problems. No particular syntax is available for math calculations. You type it as you use in maths and check the results. In fact you can use it as a scientific calculator. Example: sqrt(9), 5+9-7, 1000 - - 5 ..etc.,

11. Unit conversions using Google. Syntax: "unit1 in unit2". Example: kg in pound. Similarly you can try for other conversions.

12. Currency conversions can also be done with the help of Google. Syntax:"currency1 in currency2". Example: USD in INR.

13. Want to search only in a specific website. Then follow this syntax " word(s) site:site url". Example: Cricket site:http://yuviblogz.blogspot.com.

14. Do you want the search words to appear in the same sequence? Then type the search words within double quotes. Example: "install oracle in Linux".

15. Search for a specific file type. Syntax: "word(s) filetype:type-of-file". Example: Linux installation filetype:ppt.

Now you know Google's language. Speak to it in the language that Google understands to get better results. Before leaving this post take a look at Google's Search Features where you can get better results for your search.

GmailDrive Login Window
GmailDrive is a virtual drive that will be created in your computer under the My Computer folder which is  approximately 7.30 GB (I have mentioned it as approximate because it shows that much memory in my system). To activate GmailDrive in your system you should have a Gmail account and internet connection. You can get the GmailDrive software by clicking on DOWNLOAD. Install the software that you downloaded in your system. After the installation process is complete, you can see a drive named GmailDrive created under My Computer folder in your system. Now to open this GmailDrive you have to login with your Gmail user-id and password. After doing so, you can copy files anywhere from your system to this GmailDrive. While the files are being copied to the system you can see the files being delivered as attachment to your Gmail inbox. Do not delete the files from GmailDrive. Once you delete the data present in the GmailDrive the mails that you received as attachment will also get deleted. So before deleting the files from this drive make sure that you have sent the mails to intended person. If you want to back up these files permanently you can do so by just forwarding these mails to any of your other mail ids. I hope that you would have come to a conclusion about the merits and demerits that GmailDrive.
Top 20 Countries With Most Cyber Crime
If your computer does not perform according to the written code while running a software then you are a victim of cyber crime. There are some sites that are kept only to get your personal data. They do so by asking you to fill up a form to register before requesting an online service. Only after filling up the registration form you would come to know that it was a kind of cyber crime. Cyber crime is being experienced at a larger rate in the present day world. Symantec has listed out 20 countries that face most cyber crimes. They rate these countries based on some criteria. To know more about these criteria visit enigmasoftware. In fact this article is based on the one that is written in their site. From the pie chart its clear that United States is the major contributor to these kind of activities with 23%. The second place is taken by the most populated country in the world, China, with 9%. You can see the other major influences to these activities from the pie chart. For more detailed information about cyber crimes visit enigmasoftware.

Top 10 Search Engines
When someone says the words 'search engine', the first name that comes to most of internet users' mind is Google. Google has around 70% of the search engine users and continues to attract more users because of its efficiency to provide best results for every search that is performed. There is a difference of around 50% between the list topper and the second placed Yahoo which has little more than 10% of search engine visitors.
Popular Search Engines
Yahoo is closely followed by Bing which also has around 10% of the search engine traffic. One of the graphs show that Google and Bing have more traffic in 2010 as compared against 2009. In the case of Yahoo there is a small decline in the percentage of users though Yahoo attracts a large number of users around the world. Search engines get traffic from direct visits, bookmarking, sharing ...etc., Though there is competition between the 2nd and 3rd places, it seems that the first place will always be occupied by Google. The other search engines that some of the users rely on are AOL, ASK ..etc., that have more than a percentage of users.

Paypal, one of the leading online payment company, has reported that it would be stopping the electronic withdrawal of money for the Indian users. Usually Paypal pays in two ways, e-withdrawal and check, where they charge a processing fee of USD 5 for check payments. Now they have said that the e-withdrawal will be put on hold for Indian users due to some functionality issues. Paypal also guaranteed that the processing fee of USD 5 for check withdrawals will be refunded till the e-withdrawal is restored completely.

Therefore from 29 July, 2010 onwards those who use Paypal accounts in India will be able to withdraw money only with the help of checks for which they won't be charged the processing fee(USD 5). This concession is allowed only till the e-withdrawal functionality is put in place. So if you are in need of money from Paypal urgently, its better to take it out before 29 July.

The most popular social networking sites like Twitter, Facebook, Orkut, LinkedIn and so on, can put you out of reach of a job. It doesn't matter which site you are using to connect to your friends. Be positive and don't write any bad comments about your staffs or colleagues, because this would cause you severe problem.

About 79% of the human resource managers in America use the information from these sites to know about you before they pick you. So, if you are a blogger make sure that your contents are positive and no negativity surrounds it. Be sure to make a good impression with your profile that you create in these social networking sites because it is viewed by many of the employers. Not only they look for our attitude and psychology but also they check whether or not our profile is 100% complete. So everything from the lifestyle to the attitude is known to them from the comments, photos and videos that you post in these social networking sites.

Choose your connections wisely. Accept invitations and friend requests only from the people you know. One more thing that the employers search here is that whether or not you have at least 40 friends or connections in these sites and also you should be active. If you adhere to all these conditions then you are out of danger from getting rejected from your job interview. So, be aware of these social networking sites.

As personal computers were easily available to many, the idea of portability emerged. In the early 1970s IBM started the manufacturing of portable computers which later led to the evolution of the present day laptop computers sometimes referred to as "Notebooks" because of its size. Laptops are considered to be more efficient especially because of its architecture and portability.A desktop replacement computer is a laptop that provides most of the capabilities of a desktop computer, with a similar or better level of performance. Laptops  are light-weight, economical, energy-efficient and especially suited for wireless communication and internet access.

Today we have a number of leading laptop manufacturers in the world. The best among the manufacturers who hold the top 10 spots are DELL, SONY, FUJITSU, LENOVO, ACER, TOSHIBA, HITACHI, APPLE, COMPAQ, HEWLETT PACKARD. There are others like Samsung, HCL, Asus, Gateway, Panasonic...etc., who also do a fair contribution.  The graph above shows the malfunctioning rate of  some of  the biggest manufacturers in the world. At the same time these are all the manufacturers of the best notebooks too.

This particular graph above shows the preferences of the customers worldwide. The graph also reflects the quality of each brand. So anyone willing to buy a laptop can get an idea from these two graphs and come to a conclusion about which one to buy.

It's impossible to imagine a world without wireless cellular phones. The invention of mobile phones have changed the life style of working population across the globe. For sure it has influenced the society in a positive and progressive path. As the popularity of the cell phones grew, the manufacturers of the cell phones also started to grow gradually. Today we have a handful of mobile phone manufacturers in the world who lower their cell phone prices to get a strong foothold in the market and to stay alive in the competition with other service providers. Some of the top 10 handset manufacturers in the world are,

1) Nokia

The other companies that are involved in the business are Apple, HTC, Blackberry, Alcatel, Vodafone, 3, Toshiba...etc., Some companies aim at making a good sales whereas others think of providing the latest in the technology in their handsets. So its a healthy competition where we keep getting high end mobile phones manufactured every single day and the pie keeps changing its figure for every quarter of the year according to their sales.

Statistics show that Nokia has always remained in the top spot in manufacturing mobile cellular  phones. Samsung is also showing consistency but there is huge gap between first and second places. The next three in the list have a tight race among themselves changing position every year. These top 5 manufacturers alone contribute to around 80% of the mobiles phones manufactured in the world.

hrusday (17/02/2010), the UK government has released some files about Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs). This is the largest set of files released about the UFOs so far with 6000 pages. It contains materials from 1994 to 2000. The files share the experiences of a man in England in the year March 1997. He has seen a large blue triangle-shaped craft hovering over his back garden. The report says that the dogs around the area started barking after seeing the UFO.

Another document says that a man saw a " tube of light " coming straight from the sky in January, 1997. He saw this when he was driving  to home. Its stated that his car radio and mobile phone failed to work at that time. He has also said that he was able to walk through the light which feft him sick the next day. The document says that he developed skin problems after walking through the "tube of light" which first seemed to him like a star coming down from the sky.

The reports in the latest file describe UFOs as big, black and triangular, whereas reports from the 1940s and 1950s tended to be about saucers or disc-shaped objects. David Clarke, author of the book " The UFO files" says that "It's impossible to prove a direct link between what people are reading and watching and what they report as UFOs, but one interpretation could be that the latest advances in technology may be influencing what people see in the sky".
