India won the most awaited first edition of the kabbadi world cup against the Pakistanis in Ludhiana, Punjab yesterday. The scores were 58-24. Both the teams qualified to the finals after knocking out Canada and Italy from the tournament. In the semifinals, India defeated Canada with the scores of 57-36 and Pakistan defeated Italy with the scores of 57-33. The winning team (India) was given a prize money of one crore rupees for their performance in the finals while Pakistan took home 51 lakh. In the clash for the third spot Canada defeated Italy by a big margin of 66-22. Canada and Italy bagged cash prize worth 25 lakh and 10 lakh respectively.Apart from these prizes that the players received, the Chief Minister of Punjab has announced that the players would be given a government job.
